Art Explosion at Barker Hall

Local artists will display their talents for the community on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Art Explosion at Barker Hall, which is located in the heart of Michigan City’s thriving Uptown Arts District. This is a family-friendly event and is free to the public.
There will be a number of established artists, but we hope to provide a venue for those that are new to exhibiting and “emerging artists”. We hope to attract a number of school age exhibiters. There will be demonstrations, tours of the historic facilities, and events for children. Admission is free and there will be a modest fee to secure a booth.
The event is sponsored by Barker Hall, Michigan City Art League (MCAL) and Land of Lakes Art Alliance (LOLAA).
Categories include sculpture, drawing, pottery, stained glass, fiber art, photography, and jewelry. There is a general fee of $25 per booth for interested area artists.  The fee is refundable if the artist is not selected.
Students through high school age may exhibit for free with others in the Student Booth, but space is limited.
