**** Recommended **** I really enjoyed “Finding Neverland”, which is playing at the Cadillac Palace through December 4th. “Finding Neverland” started the national tour in October after a modest success on Broadway. As I watched the production, I had the strongest sense of déjà vu. Although I was positive I’d never seen “Finding Neverland”, it felt like I had. I guess it’s because there lots of plays and musicals about Peter Pan and/or his creator J. M Barrie. At any rate, the material isn’t new or particularly original, and it could use some judicious cutting. 3 ½ Spotlights.
“Finding Neverland” runs through December 4th at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph, Chicago. Running time is 2 hours, 35 minutes, with an intermission. Check www.broadwayinchicago.com for performance dates and time. Tickets range from $27-$123. Best parking option I’ve found is the $13 evening rate at the garage on Franklin between Randolph & Lake. FYI (800) 775-2000, all Broadway in Chicago Box Offices, www.ticketmaster.com or www.broadwayinchicago.com.
